I watched the American Idol concert in Manila for free!

I’ve been following American Idol since Season 3, but I never thought that I would ever get to watch it live. The Season 10 finalists came to the Philippines for the first time for their tour, and I was able to watch them for free! :D Here’s my proof:

my free American Idol concert ticket

I was randomly checking Plurk when Ade said that he was giving away a ticket to the American Idol concert that night to the first person who would reply. Of course I said that I wanted to go. I was the first to reply, but I really didn’t expect anything. I mean, Plurk is where people balahura each other. No one takes anyone seriously there. XD

But, a few minutes later he sent me instructions on how to pick up the ticket. It was real! I couldn’t believe my luck. I kept asking really? really? to make sure. I didn’t have time anymore to go home and get a camera, so I went straight to Araneta Coliseum. I was even more pleased when I found out that my seat was in the lower box, and on the side, near the stage! I am near-sighted, so it was really great to get a good look at the finalists from where I sat.

The girls opened the first half of the show, and I was delighted to see Lauren Alaina in person, even from afar. I rooted for her during the finals because I just love her deep voice, especially when she sang “Like My Mother Does.” She was her usual naughty self onstage, and she looked like a doll in her ballerina-like skirt and knee-high boots. But, Scott McCreery was just electrifying onstage, and I now understand why he won. He doesn’t sound like he’s 17! He sounds like a middle-aged singer. He’s adorable though. Any girl would fall for someone who sings like that to her :) He didn’t come out until the second half of the show, and the crowd went wild. I think they were just waiting for him to come out.

It was just too bad that I didn’t have a camera with me, and I was alone so I was well, behaved. A friend, who was the real crazy fan, was there too, but she sat in a different section. We only caught up with each other after the show was over. She mentioned going to Manila Hotel and having a two-thousand peso breakfast there just so we could catch a glimpse of the finalists up close! I’m not that crazy yet though :D

Thank you so much for the epic night Ade and Globe Mobile! :)
