Digital Filipino Club Fellowship Night
It looks like the blogging community in Cebu is finally kicking off and starting to catch up with the communities in Manila and Davao. I hadn’t seen that many bloggers in Cebu until Thursday night at the Digital Filipino Club Fellowship Night.
The event started with a buffet dinner at the Teatro Casino of the Waterfront Hotel. Most everyone I know was there on time. I was a little late, and when I got inside the hall, I was surprised to see so many wearing black shirts with the Blogger ko, Bai (I’m a blogger, pal) design on the front.
I knew there was going to be a shirt, but I didn’t know there were that many bloggers who would be there. There used to be only around five of us at meet-ups. I hadn’t been attending meet-ups in months, and I have a huge backlog of group e-mails to open. I’m glad the group has grown a lot since!

Initially I thought the event was an e-commerce seminar, but I realized when I got there that it was purely a party. Janette asked us to introduce ourselves after dinner. Aside from bloggers, there were IT players, too. The participants came from diverse backgrounds, but all shared an interest in the web and e-commerce. Janette then discussed briefly the activities of Digital Filipino and the top 100 Philippine blogs for 2008 according to Ratified. It’s not yet familiar to many in Cebu, but I’ve heard about it, and visit it sometimes to look for quality blogs to read.
The party started after that, and lasted until about 11 p.m. There were drinks, live band, and casino. We all got free P300-worth of coupons but I didn’t know how to play, so I stood by and watched those who did.

nxt tym I’ll be early (So that I get the good stuff - “Freebies”) and stay late to take advantage of other sudden happenings (some of the bloggers won Php500.00 and treated those who hadn’t left pizza! - waaaaaaaa)
