What is true north?
True North is a star used by travelers and seafarers in ancient times to navigate. They used it as a compass to get to their destination. It is marked in the skies by the north celestial pole, and sometimes, when the time is right, by the north star, Polaris.

Why quest for the true north?
The difference between a traveler and a tourist is that tourists pore over maps and visit tourist sites, always making sure that they have photos to show to friends, and not knowing what they’re missing. A traveler, on the other hand, doesn’t know where she is going. She goes where the wings on her feet take her.

I am like that whenever I am on the road, and even in my life in general. I am known to be flighty. I crave variety, and I am drawn to untrodden paths. At my age, I am not sure yet where I’ll end up in, but I trust that my feet will lead me to my true north if I let it.

Why theworldismyoyster.net?
I see the world as a vast place to see, explore, and learn from. I also love to learn, and traveling is my way of learning about the world.

Since when have you been blogging?
I started making websites around 2000 (back when Geocities was still around), and started blogging privately in early 2004 in Blogger. I moved to Blogdrive not long after, where I gained a following posting my soul for all the world to read. I have since regained my senses and learned to publish only what’s necessary. (To those who knew me back then, that blog is still intact, but I moved the address. I don’t update it anymore.) I hopped to Multiply to LiveJournal to WordPress, and then I decided to buy my own space in March 2008. I lost my first domain though to domain parkers because my webhost forgot to renew it, which is okay because the address didn’t make sense anyway. I like this one better. It suits my frame of mind these days.

I have gained a lot of blog buddies through the years, some even became my close friends offline. Today, I am a proud member of Cebu Bloggers Society, plus a number of other blogging communities (where I’m not active). I attend blog events whenever I’m free. I also dabble in SEO, and I write for some websites on a freelance basis.

Can we exchange links?
I only add blogs of friends and people I know in the flesh. Sorry. But if you want to link to my blog, please feel free to do so, and thank you.
