This is the aerial view of Chicago as seen from the sky deck of the Sears Tower. I just love that beautiful loop of roads in the center. It’s called Circle Interchange, one of the worst places to be stuck in traffic in the world, and it’s an example of a Spaghetti Junction.
But still, I love Chicago! I hope to go back there someday.

what a perfect view from the top!
I’m thinking “trafic” quite a materpiece of flow though
It looks pretty from above, but I don’t think I would want to drive that.
Those can be fun if your car takes corners well.
GIS Spaghetti Junction for some other fun examples.
It’s a beautiful shot for a wonderful city!
Here’s my view.
Yeah, I know what you mean… there’s a certain symmetry to it… an order of sorts when you look at it. Excellent choice!
oh, how i love the loop!
Oprah city! nice aerial view indeed!
That is a great shot! You really captured the city and what a city it is! Stop by and visit my view…a little out of the box1
thanks, all!
@brine queen
why? i would love to, if i knew how to drive.
@dawn
yep. the loop is notorious for its traffic jams.
@nakajoe
obviously i don’t know much about cars to have thought of that. all i saw was that the loop was beautiful.
i did what you said. so it’s an example of a Spaghetti Junction, and its name is Circle Interchange. wow!
@philos
yep. you can read about the shape here:

They do have their own kind of beauty, but can be a pain to figure out if you’re new to the area.
For some reason I always seem to get stuck behind Granny or a big truck when I get the chance to drive one; dropping a gear and seeing how fast you can take an uphill ramp without hitting the rail is IMO the best part of driving.
busiest airport ang sa chicago O’hare (tama ba)
@nakajoe
now you’re talking french. i think riding in a car over that loop at night would be fun, like riding a coaster. is there still traffic at night?
@TK
used to be, according to wikipedia. now the busiest is hartsfield.
great view, light! wonder when will i get to see this in person? hmmmm…
you’ll never know.
In the middle of Chicago, there’s always traffic.
Night has its good and bad points. Much less traffic, especially slow old people and big trucks, but more unpredictable drunks and really slow stoners. And the police can see you from farther away with fewer cars to distract them. The forces you feel inside the car are less than a coaster, but it’s actually dangerous, which is what makes it fun.
nah. i’m not scared of those.you should come see the philippines. it will toughen you up like you never thought any place would.
I wonder how it compares to Bangkok or Paris. Those were both fun (even though I never got to drive either).
bangkok? paris? hellooo. nothing beats manila. the most seasoned drivers are here.
Now you REALLY have me wanting to go!
It looks clean and orderly from where you took the pic. Talking about traffic congestion, it pales in comparison to Manila streets.
Landmark masterpiece! This is truly remarkable… Hope we can build one here in Cebu.
it’s shot thru glass, right? I would love to shoot it at night on slow shutter.
hi!! wow!! buti ka pa nkapunta na chicago!!

fabulous nightscape. even if some buildings don’t have their lights on
@abaniko
but i read that it’s one of the worst junctions to be stuck in traffic in the world. maybe i took the photo on a not-so-busy day. i remember it was a long weekend when i went to chicago.
@i am downloader
in a century, maybe. we’ll have to overhaul the city. the streets in cebu are too narrow.
@tutubi
yes. from the skydeck of sears tower.
@dane
yes, i’ve been to chicago, among other great cities.
@nakajoe
that is one great photo!!
@jam sisante
