Top 10 Emerging Influential Bloggers for 2009

Actually, that post title is wrong, because I am not going to vote for ten blogs. I am voting for only one. 
I’ve never came up with ten on my list anyway. Last year I came up with only three. The reason? I munch words for a living, so I take semantics seriously. For me, influence is not equal to visibility, nor popularity. Even Mr. Webster will tell you that.
So my lone vote this year goes to the Cebu Bloggers Society. I am a member of this group, but that’s not the reason I am voting for it. I will be the first to say that our group blog needs a lot of improvements here and there, but nevertheless, that blog, this group, has been making waves in Cebu since late last year.
The group has been invited by local radio and television channels to talk about blogging. Local politicians request audience with the group to ask about their concerns. Companies and events organizers in Cebu are starting to realize the importance of including bloggers in promotions and public relations efforts. They invite the group to their product launches, anniversary celebrations, and other events, which didn’t happen before.
Even the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce & Industry asked the group to help in the Mandaue Business Month.
Other bloggers in Cebu are encouraged by this and are coming out of their shell. They blog to the next level now. They do not blog just for their self anymore–not rants, emo shit, or Adsense rakings–they blog for Cebu. They help promote Cebu as the Queen City of the South, the beautiful city with the pristine white beaches alongside engineering hubs. The members of the Cebu Bloggers Society have that one common objective, and the people of Cebu see that.
Influence for me is about making your presence felt in the community you belong, and making positive changes in it. The Cebu Bloggers Society does just that.

wala na gyud. i didn’t want to pay the redemption fee, which was at least $120. i tried to backorder it but someone else snapped it before i did. it’s owned by a domain parker now.
and nope, wala nako sya gi-include last year. di na sad nako ni dugangan.
