Would you know what kind of banana this is?
My housemate, Cathleen, brought home some jumbo-sized bananas that she found in a market in Negros.
I have never seen bananas these big:
We placed the bottle of Sprite there for comparison. As you can see, the bananas are longer than a 1.5-liter bottle of Sprite.
It took us two days to eat these. We had to cut the bananes into slices and eat the slices one at a time.
Maybe there really is a kind of banana this big, but this is my first time to see one.

myuzeeshun: oo nga eh. actually yun lang kinain naming merienda for two days. di na kami bumili ng merienda. and take note, marami kami sa bahay namin ha.
ade: hello! heard about your name several times. glad to see you here.
paul: yung banana stalks line ko ba ang tinutukoy mo? :p ni-remind ako ni maya about that nung bloggers party. why did i say that? nakalimutan ko na talaga anong pumasok sa kukote ko nung time na yon.
tsaka di pwedeng banana-choke noh. parang malaswa pakinggan. :baka ma-rate na X ang blog ko based on the domain name. :p
jen: di ko nga alam eh. walang makakapagsabi sa akin kung anong breed yan.
jester: *laughs*
Those look like Plantains. In the caribbean we slice them up and fry them which makes them very sweet.
the bananas were soft and sweet, much like the ones eaten for dessert. plantains are the ones used for cooking right? also, plantains are shorter and stouter than a foot. or maybe there’s a different kind of plantain in your place?
That’s the kind of banana they sell here in Saudi, I think that’s from India. That’s what we use here as substitute for “saba”- native Filipino banana specie used to make “turon”.
really? what is it called?
